I am so thankful you are here
Topics for my blog will include... Breastfeeding, motherhood, raising children, balancing work and life, mood, and overall health and well-being
I am Brandee. Wife, mother, nurse, and lactation consultant. I plan to be candid here and share my personal breastfeeding experiences as well as professional insight. I hope to share about the ebbs and flows of motherhood from the standpoint of a full time working mom, and offer words of encouragement.
My Logo
I would like to start off sharing a little bit about my logo for my business. The tree symbolizes a lot of different things. My grandmother once said, "I can't move because my roots are too deep." That got me thinking. When you enter the journey of motherhood, there is a deep rooted connection between the mother and infant. And this connection is lifelong. The tree is the symbol of life. Birthing parents are literally a home for their unborn baby, nurturing their growth in utero. The placenta is a vascular link between the two. Similarly, the breast tissue is amazingly complex. It is through a vast network of ducts that milk is created and then expelled to nurture the newborn baby and growing toddler. In my logo, the tree is like the "nipple" and the rings are the "areola," and together they appear like a target. Both are important for lactation.
